Are you looking for an interesting and satisfying volunteer
Are you a patient at St Lawrence Avenue Surgery?
If so your PPG might need you.
We need people who are able to take a lead in the following areas.
We would like to provide a more balanced profile of the Practice
population on the PPG. Therefore, if you are working , or a mum at
home, and are reluctant to volunteer because you feel that you are
unable to attend regular meetings, you could be the person that we
are looking for.
We need a Volunteers coordinator.
We have a number of patients who are willing to volunteer at
events or to help at the flu clinics. As the coordinator we would ask
you to keep in contact with the current volunteers and to build their
number by promoting volunteering and recruiting others. When
events are planned you would need to compile a team of
volunteers, organise rotas , if appropriate , and ensure everyone is
clear in their role. It could be that you are unable to attend all
events, due to other commitments. Don’t worry! If you have
organised your team, we can take it from there!
The second role we need to fill is Publicity Liaison.
Are you able to produce posters? Could you make a noticeboard
eye catching? From time to time we need events publicising and
we need someone who could focus on doing this. It is always
difficult to ensure that as many people as possible hear about what
is happening with the PPG. Could you be the person who could
help us contact more patients?
Finally, we need someone to act as our Lottery Coordinator.
Have you got any experience of setting up a lottery or similar? We
are hoping to introduce a regular lottery. Our treasurer has
researched this, but we need someone to take the lead in
determining interest and then setting this up. You would liaise with
our treasurer in this role.
If you are interested in any of these roles please contact
