Dear Friends of the Surgery,
Jo has asked me to write to you regarding the possible purchase of a new hyfrecator for the surgery.
A hyfrecator is a low powered medical apparatus, used in electrosurgery on conscious patients. It is used to destroy tissue directly and to stop bleeding during minor surgery.
As you are aware we perform minor surgery in house on a regular basis. This is a wonderful service for our patients, it means they are seen quickly with no long wait to be seen at the hospital and they only have to come to the surgery as opposed to travelling to the hospital which can be difficult for older or disabled patients
Our current hyfrecator is old and has become very temperamental and it regularly sets of the computer alarms to indicate an emergency in the room, which means staff come running from all around the surgery to assist with a non existent event! It keeps us fit but is an obvious waste of clinician’s time.
So if it were possible we would be extremely grateful for a replacement, the cost varies and we would obviously look for the best possible deal and the lowest price but to replace like with like and have a new Conmed Hyfrecator 2000 complete system is going to cost approximately £2100
Thank you for considering buying this for us, we have our fingers crossed
